Medicare Override Vote Scheduled for 5:30pm EDT!

After President Bush’s defiant veto this afternoon, the Senate is poised for an override vote. According the Majority Leader Harry Reid, the vote will take place at around 5:30pm.
 
Sen. Ted Kennedy whose return to the Senate floor last week helped usher in a great victory for patients and doctors alike, is currently undergoing treatment for his cancer and is not expected to vote today.
 
Sen. Reid is confident that Kennedy’s participation will not be needed since many GOP lawmakers reinforced their continued support for the bill.
 
Sen. John McCain is still nowhere to be found.
